Abstract
The relation between the ethnics and the nation-state plays a crucial role in unifying the national sovereignty and protecting political stability and security within the country, especially for the multicultural and multireligious countries. Africa and South Asia are regions where many countries are facing challenges in building and managing nation-state due to ethnic conflicts and social stratifications. This article draws on a literature review about the relations between ethnics and nations in Africa and South Asia, focusing on issues of ethnicities and the concerns to nation-state building in these two regions.
