NGUYEN BA TRAC’S DESIRE TO RENEW THE COUNTRY IN “HAN MAN DU KY”
Abstract
In the early years of the twentieth century, in order to contribute to the realization of the country's renovation mission, Nguyen Ba Trac went to other Asian countries to learn how. Nguyen Ba Trac's journey was long and difficult. Although his dream of liberating the country was not fulfilled, he lived his life with the aspirations and ambitions of youth. These were reflected in his vivid travel writing “Han man du ki”. The work has helped readers feel partly the patriotism of Nguyen Ba Trac at the stage of so-called "a clear river" in his multi-stage life. The article explores two aspects of his desire to reform the country: to have a modern political ideology accompanied by a prosperous developed society.
