EUTHANASIA RIGHT UNDER THE LAW OF CHINESE TAIPEI (TAIWAN) AND SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR VIET NAM

Abstract

Due to the differences between cultures, religions, politics and societies, there are different opinions on life between countries and territories. Some people think that human life is sacred and inviolable. On the other hand, other people think that the quality of life is more important. For some countries and territories around the world, the law not only protects citizens' right to life but also have concerns in the right to euthanasia. Vietnam so far has not recognized this right, so in this article the author refers to the euthanasia rights of Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) through the Patient Autonomy Act. Besides that, some suggestions would be presented in order to legalize this right in Vietnam in the future.
