Abstract

As the socialist rule of law state, Vietnam respects and upholds human rights by signing and participating in United Nations’ Declarations and Conventions on human rights - including the right to privacy. However, although there have been many regulations governing different aspects of this right, the current Vietnamese law still has a "gap" on the content of privacy when a specific and detailed concept has not been developed, which leads to some difficulties when protecting privacy in practice. Therefore, through synthesizing and researching the concept of privacy in international law, analyzing the current Vietnamese legal system on privacy, the article points out the problems that still exist in the process of developing the concept of privacy and propose some solutions to complete this concept, thereby aiming towards systematization and  build the "Law on Privacy" in the future.
