Buddhist Guidance Activities in Đồng Tháp Province Today

Abstract

Buddhist guidance is one of the basic activities of
Buddhism. This activity not only guides Buddhist practice and
lifestyle for its believers but also contributes to the realization of
purpose and guidelines of Buddhist Sangha as a religious
organization. Since 1981 when the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam
established its Buddhist Guide Board, this activity has
increasingly promoted its effectiveness, contributing
significantly to maintain the vitality of Buddhism in the new
period. However, so far, special studies of Buddhist guidance
activities on national scale in general, and in each local area in
particular have been few. The article concentrates on clarifying
Buddhist guidance activities in Đồng Tháp province today
through the main aspects, including subject, object, content,
implementation types and efficiency.
