“Eating Bufalo” Festival and its Religious Meaning within the M’nong Community

Abstract

Mnong people have many rituals. In my opinion,
the “stabbing buffalo” and “planting a bombax ceiba tree”
festivals are remarkable. However, these two festivals have
the same nature, it is the sacrifice to pray for a peaceful and
happy life. In this article, the author indicates the “eating
buffalo” festival in Mnong Nong and Mnong Preh groups, the
meaning of this belief. Besides, the author also introduces the
other forms of magic and beliefs in the contemporary life of
the Mnong community such as amulets, stone worship,
reincarnation
