Theo tác giả bài viết, truyện kể dân gian Thừa Thiên Huế gồm 4 thể loại: Truyền thuyết, cổ tích, truyện cười và giai thoại, trong đó giai thoại và truyện cười chiếm số lượng nhiều nhất. Truyện kể dân gian Thừa Thiên Huế có số lượng phong phú, đề tài đa dạng, phong cách độc đáo, thể hiện rõ những yếu tố văn hóa đặc thù của vùng đất đế đô. Đây là một di sản văn hóa phi vật thể có giá trị nhiều mặt, cần được quan tâm bảo tồn và phát huy.

ABSTRACT

          According to the author, the tales of Thừa Thiên Huế consists of five types: legends, old tales, humourous stories and anecdotes, of which anecdotes and humourous stories account for a large part with a great variety of subjects and styles. Being typical of the culture of the old royal capital, tales native to Thừa Thiên Huế are abundant, diversified in subjects as well as distinctive in styles... This is a piece of  local intangible culture with its diverse values which really deserves preservation and enhancement.
