Cho đến nay, chúng ta vẫn chưa có được một công trình nghiên cứu nào thật sự đầy đủ và toàn diện về văn học Champa. Văn học Champa cũng chưa có mặt trong bất kỳ một bộ lịch sử văn học Việt Nam nào. Vậy vị trí của văn học Champa trong lịch sử văn học Việt Nam như thế nào? Thông qua các cứ liệu lịch sử, văn hóa và văn học, bài viết xác định vị trí quan trọng của lịch sử, văn hóa và văn học Champa trong chỉnh thể lịch sử, văn hóa và văn học Việt Nam. Bài viết cũng nêu lên những thành tựu chính của văn học Champa trong các thời kỳ lịch sử, những đóng góp riêng độc đáo về tư tưởng và nghệ thuật của nền văn học này, đặt ra yêu cầu cần khôi phục và nghiên cứu văn học Champa một cách hệ thống và với quy mô tương xứng, nhằm bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị văn hóa truyền thống của dân tộc.

ABSTRACT

 So far, there has not been any comprehensive study on the literature of Champa. Also, the literature of Champa has never appeared in any literary history of Vietnam. So, what is the position of the literature of Champa in the literary history of Vietnam? Through historcal, cultural and literary evidence, the article aims to define the importance of the history, culture and literature of Champa in the perfect whole of the history, culture and literature of Vietnam. The article also mentions literary achievements of Champa during historical periods and unique contributions on thoughts and art of this literature, and raises a point of restoring and studying the literature of Champa systematically and at the appropriate scale in order to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the nation.
