Prevalence of E. coli and Salmonella in poultry products in Huu Lung district, Lang Son province

Abstract

The objective of this study aimed at identifying the prevalence of Salmonella and E. coli in poultry products after slaughter and selling at some local markets in Huu Lung district, Lang Son province. The tested result for 26 meat samples collecting at 2 slaughterhouses and 41 samples collecting at 2 bazars showed that total aerobic bacteria in all the meat samples exceededpermitted level. There were 100 % of the meat samples positive with E. coli and the number of E. coli bacteria was dozens of times higher than the target food safety. The positive meat samples with Salmonella was also found from 17.07 to 19.23%.
