Abstract

In July 1995, Vietnam - US officially normalized their diplomatic relation, opening a new chapter in bilateral relationship. The economic-trade relations between the two countries was enhanced thanks to the opening of politicaldiplomatic relations. The signing of the Bilateral Trade Agreement (2000), the United States adopted the Regulation on Permanent Normal Trade Relations for Vietnam (2006) and Vietnam became a member of the World Trade Organization (2007) helped create frameworks, momentum and bring about opportunities for bilateral trade cooperation to continue to develop. Especially, with the milestone that the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership (2013), policies of promoting economic-trade-investment cooperation and considering it as a pillar in the bilateral relationship of the top leaders of the two countries, cooperation in this area has developed significantlly, made many achievements and has potential for further development in the coming time.
