The Process of Power Consolidation of the Yugoslavian Communists in the 1930s and 1940s

Abstract

It is factual that the process of power consolidation of the Yugoslavian Communists in the 1930s and 1940s differed from that of the other Communist Parties in the Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe. On the basic of new researches and findings, this article explains the success of the Yugoslavian Communist Party under Broz Tito's leadership with a focus on the following aspects: i) the Yugoslavian Communist Party received good direction from the Comintern since its foundation in 1919; ii) the Yugoslavian Communist Party, thanks to its appropriate fighting strategy, gained great support from the Yugoslavian people in the protracted resistance movement; iii) the audacious revolutionary spirit of the Yugoslavian Communists; iv) the skilful leadership of the Yugoslavian leader Broz Tito.
