Decision making factors of façade energy-efficient glass material selection in Vietnam

Nghiên cứu xem xét các hệ thống ra quyết định lựa chọn vật liệu kính cho công trình hiệu quả năng lượng thông qua các trường hợp ở Singapore và Việt Nam. Các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến việc lựa chọn là tiêu chuẩn quốc gia và quốc tế hoặc các tiêu chuẩn riêng của các nghiên cứu đề xuất độc lập, đặc biệt là ở Singapore. Ngược lại, chi phí đầu tư và sự yếu thế của đơn vị tư vấn thiết kế để xác định lựa chọn vật liệu là những yếu tố ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến lựa chọn vật liệu kính tại Việt Nam. Một so sánh giữa cả hai quốc gia cho thấy những người ra quyết định rất đa dạng ở Singapore và Việt Nam. Để khái quát hóa các kết luận rút ra ở Việt nam, nghiên cứu chi tiết tập trung vào mối quan hệ giữa các bên liên quan là cần thiết trong tương lai.

Abstract

This study examines the decision-making systems of glazing materials for energy-effecient buildings. The factors that influenced the choice positively were the building code, such as the national and international standards, or the individual standards of independent proposed studies, particularly in Singapore. On the contrary, the investment cost and the inability of design consultant to determine the material choice are the factors that have a negative impact on the choice of glass material in Vietnam. A comparison of the two countries reveals that decision makers in Singapore and Vietnam are very diverse. For the generalization of the conclusions drawn in the tropical regions, detailed research focusing on the relationship between the stakeholders is required in future. In order to generalize the conclusions reached in Vietnam, additional research focusing on stakeholder relationships will be required in the future.
