Abstract
Climate change is a serious issue that is posing significant challenges to land use today. In Vietnam, policies on agricultural land management and use in response to climate change have been issued in order to manage and use the agricultural land fund economically, efficiently, and sustainably. These have contributed to socio-economic development, environmental protection, and the reduction of land degradation. However, it revealed a number of shortcomings such as lacking mechanisms to create conditions for effective promotion of resources; focusing only on natural disaster prevention, ignoring regulations that tightly coordinated relationships among ministries, sectors and localities to respond to climate change developments, etc. In order to adapt and mitigate climate change in agricultural land use and management, this study suggests practical implementing synchronous solutions such as supplementing and perfecting the policy of synchronization and consistency; study and consolidate the organizational apparatus and perfect mechanisms and policies to mobilize and effectively use all resources in the direction of synthesis and unity; build an inter-sectoral, inter-regional coordination mechanism and socialization encourage; perfect policies to invest in science and technology; develop national and regional land use strategies, etc.
