Social safety for Vietnamese farmers

Abstract

In Vietnam over 70 percent population live in rural areas and 56.8 percent of the people work in the agricultural field. They are an instable and low income farmers whose lives are offen threatened by unexpected problems including deseases, natual disaster such as flood, typhoons and so on...As a  result social safety for farmers should be taken onto account in the party and state's policy for agricultural and rural development.

During renovation period a system of social safety for farmers has gradually  been shaped and developed, helping them overcome and subjective the system  of social for farmers still leaves much to be desired. This article is designed to identify them so as to seek an appropriate and effective solution. Its main contents include:

1. The states of social safety system for Vietnam farmers

2. Why the social safety system for farmerns still remains insucessful

3. A proposed model of the social safety system for farmers in the coming years

4. Solutions to the system of social safety for farmers in the coming period
