THE IMPACT OF PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE GOVERNANCE ON VIETNAM’S REGIONAL GROWTH PERFORMANCE

Abstract

Applying Cobb – Douglas function, the paper designed experimental models in the form of Dynamic Panel Data and using D-GMM estimation to examine the impact of provincial administrative governance indicators on the regional growth performance in Vietnam. The researching dataset of 63 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government was collected from 2012 to 2018. The statistical evidence found strongly strengthened the role of public administrative governance efficiency. The PCI and PAPI are employed as proxies of provincial administrative governance, explaining the regional growth performance. The research results also considered the impact of PAPI's component index of content. While Participation at Local Levels and Vertical Accountability had found positive effects, Transparency was recorded negatively correlation.
