Abstract

The paper uses the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) to determine the economic value of biodiversity and considers the factors that affect the willingness to pay (WTP ) for conservation of mangroves and biodiversity in Xuan Thuy National Park in the context of climate change. The results show that the non-use value of Xuan Thuy National Park is estimated at 8 billion dong. The people in the buffer zone of the national park are somewhat aware of the importance of mangroves in general and the National Park in particular. Factors affecting people's willingness to pay are income, eduation and work. High income people will be willing to pay more. People are well aware of the value of mangrove forests that pay more. At the same time, people with jobs related to the environment and the ecosystems are also willing to pay more. Research results will help managers select appropriate policies and management mechanisms to maintain and preserve the biodiversity of the NP and the social community.
