SOCIAL EQUALITY IN PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE

The strategy for developing socio-economics in the period 2011 - 2020 appreciates sustainable growth and development, namely: "economic growth must harmonically cooperate with cultural development, implement social progress and fairness, continually improve quality of people's life" (CPV 2011: 98). Healthcare is a basic need and right of all citizens, and this is also one of social functions that a government is supposed to carry out. Social equality in public healthcare is one of criteria assessing population health of a nation. Determining social equality in public healthcare may provide theoretical and practical foundation for building and implementing healthcare policies. Furthermore, social equality is targeted one of the core of national development policies.
