ntroducing WebDewey, the e-version of the Dewey Decimal Classification framework
Abstract
DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) is one of the commonly used document classification frameworks. It was built by Mr. Melvil Dewey (1851-1931) in the 1870s. Currently, the DDC classification framework is used by more than 200,000 libraries in 130 countries and has been translated into more than 30 languages worldwide. world. One of DDC's strengths is that it is always updated, corrected, supplemented, and published. In Vietnam, the birth of the Abridged Dewey Decimal Classification Framework 14 (DDC Abridged 14), compiled and introduced by the National Library of Vietnam, marks an important step in the standardization and integration of library and information industry.
This article introduces the electronic version of the DDC Decimal Classification Framework; history; feature; Basic instructions for using the application; the benefits it brings; and some notes when using WebDewey.
