CURRENT SITUTATION AND DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES OF AGRO-METEOROLOGY MONITORING NETWORK IN VIET NAM

Abstract

Agricultural production differs from other economic sectors, as almost every production process is carried out outdoors. So the weather, climate and hydrology are very significant and decisive for agricultural production. With the importance of hydro-meteorological information for agricultural production, in many countries in the world, agro-meteorology has been formed and developed very early. Hydrological and meteorological services in different countries differ in their organizational and operational models, but the agro-meteorological sector includes monitoring, survey, research, and service. To assess serviceability of meteorological and hydrographical divisions to agricultural production, this paper addresses two issues: Current state of the agro-meteorology monitoring network and development orientation of agro-meteorology monitoring network of Vietnam.
