Abstract

Nowadays, the problem of adjusting the power in the lighting system to save energy depends a lot on the light sensor system. In many cases the value of the light sensor is influenced by many factors such as the location of the sensor, the direction of the sensor, and reflectors or shielding in the working environment. This typically requires multiple sensors to be set up in different directions to collect the overall light level. In this paper, the team will use a multidirectional rotating light sensor as input to control the lighting system. This approach overcomes the problem of static sensor networks by dynamically varying the measuring angle of the light sensor. Normal office test results show that the rotating sensor can measure the light level in different directions and detect the direction of the main light source. Even when blocking some directions, the sensor can accurately measure and provide perceptual information about the remaining directions. The research will focus on evaluating the performance of lighting energy saving systems using multidirectional rotating light sensors compared to static sensors.
