Abstract

After a long period of growth based on the exploitation of resources and the increase in investment capital, Vietnam is currently in the process of restructuring to build a model of economic growth based on quality and efficiency. One of the challenges that hinder this process is the quality of human resources, including vocational training. In the past time, although Vietnam has paid much attention to investing in the vocational training system for many years to improve the quality and quantity of training, the results have not been as expected. This article reviews the current situation of vocational training in Vietnam, discusses the success of the parallel vocational training model in the Federal Republic of Germany and draws some suggestions to improve the vocational training model in Vietnam.
