Effect of Foliar Fertilizer Pomior on Growth of Mulberry Plants and Yield and Quality of Mulberry leaves

Abstract

Foliar fertilizer application is a method that quickly supplies plants with nutrition, especially mulberry plants with several harvests per year. However, there have been few studies using foliar fertilizer in mulberry cultivation. The experiment was conducted examine the effect of foliar
application of Pomior on the growth, yield and quality of mulberry with 3 concentrations: 0.4%, 0.5% and 0.6%. It was shown that foliar fertilizer Pomior can promote plant growth and, in effect, the foliar yield yield increased from 18.73% to 44.95% in the Spring - Summer cropping season and 12.41% to 55.11% in the Summer - Autumn cropping season. Foliar fertilizer Pomior also increased the quality of mulberry leaves as evidenced by increased cocoon yield from 9.59% to 16.67% in the Spring Summer cropping season and 10.51% to 27.17% in the Summer - Autumn cropping season. It appeared that the concentration of 0.6% gave highest result.
