Study on Stability of Aroma, Yield and Quality through Generations of Pre-Basic Seed Production of Huongcom Rice Variety

Abstract
This study was conducted to evaluate yield, quality and, especially, aroma of the rice variety Huongcom during maintenance breeding to produce pre-basic seed. The aroma was assessed using leaves and endosperm from G0 to G2 generation. It was found that the aromatic character is not stable through selective generations during maintenance phase. Rigorous selection for this trait in the G1 generation was proposed to maintain aroma in the consecutive generations
