Abstract

Songs, especially love songs, are beautiful and touching because of the melody. However, it is the lyrics that make an everlasting song. A key factor that contributes to the beauty of lyric is the use of literary devices. In the song “Tinh cay va dat” (lit. Love between tree and earth) by To Thanh Tung, the uniqueness of literary devices, especially metaphor, exerts a strong impression on listeners. The article employs some research methods and techniques such as analysis, comparison-contrast, to highlight the use of literary devices in the song “Tinh cay va dat”, which shows the talent of To Thanh Tung.
