Factors influencing investment attraction to the industrial zones in the Central of Vietnam

Abstract

   Attracting investment into the industrial zones is crucial to promote the economic development based on the industrialization and modernization that has been identified by the Communist Party. Most previous studies in this area are from the policy makers' perspective. This paper deeply analyzes the factors influencing investment in the industrial zones from the firm perspective. Inspired by analyzing investment behavior, this paper uses IVprobit model to test the proposed hypothesis. The benefit expected from the investment, the impact of policies on attracting investment and the development of supporting industries are the main factors influencing firm's investment intention. The paper also highlights the current status of the relevant bodies' treatment for the economic sectors. The paper has implications for both firms and policy implementation.
