Study fluctuaton of velocity and pressure at downstream Hoa Binh’s spillway

Abstract

    Turbulent flow downstream of a spillway is always a complex topic due to variations in direction as well as value. These variations cause the fluctuations of velocity and pressure. In this study, the values of these fluctuations in Hoa Binh hydropower spillway were determined through the simulation in physical model. Based on observer data, the maximum velocity and pressure along the downstream of the spillway were determined.
