Abstract

    Using conventional concrete for coastal protection structures will often lead to reduce its life service. To address this limitation, the paper presents the method by using glass fiber reinforcement in combination with several types of admixture to produce concrete. This type of concrete helps to enhance flexural strength, minimize the possibility of cracks in concrete, and improve the resistance to chemical-induced corrosion thereby improving the quality, extending the life service of the structure. The outcome of this study is high performance concrete, which can be used effectively for the coastal protection structures. This result also helps manufacturers to refer to works with the same application in the near future.
