Abstract

The areas on the eastern slope of Ong Tuong hill and the slopes in groups 4, 5, 6 of Cham Mat ward and group 4 of Thai Binh ward, Hoa Binh city have often occurred in recent years. The construction and handling are not timely, making these areas unstable and becoming more complicated with each rainy season. According to the survey results, a combination of solutions has been applied to prevent landslides and promote their effectiveness through the 2016 rainy season. However, from September to October 2017, there was prolonged heavy rain in Hoa Binh province area, causing landslides and slips on the eastern slope of Ong Tuong hill in the area behind the headquarters of provincial agencies, Thai Binh ward and Cham Mat ward. Design solutions to drain surface water, groundwater, protect grass roofs, reinforced concrete retaining walls, etc. are proposed. Calculation results show the effectiveness of these solutions in minimizing the risk of landslides in the above areas
