Method of evaluating floor vibration and considering applications in design in Vietnam

Abstract

The phenomenon of structural vibration can cause psychological concern for the user of the construction of works like the case of people standing on the temporary working floor. In addition, it can also cause small cracks and can also cause structural fatigue due to the intermittent loadleading to
its demolition and collapse. The design in Vietnam also refers to this issue as in TCVN 6962: 2001, TCVN 6963: 2001, TCVN 7191-2002, TCVN 7378: 2004. These standards only address the vibration limit and concussions are damaging to people. At the same time, offering a method of vibration measurement to determine when the works and structures have been completed rather than giving the theory to calculate and forecast at the design stage. In this paper, the method of calculating and analyzing floor structure vibration will be presented by the method of analysis according to BS 6841, ISO 2631, EN 1990 and calculation methods of other researches. Statement to evaluate, predict or strengthen the structure when vibration exceeds the threshold to harm the health, psychology of users as well as destroy the structure.
