Technology development for meteorology forecasting in lower Mekong Delta - Vietnam

Abstract

    In recent decades, drought in the Mekong Delta region-Vietnam growing, can occur even in the rainy season, a major influence on the socio-economic development in this area. Therefore, the study projected construction technologies in this area have practical significance for the proposed measures to prevent natural disasters, and for social and economic sustainable development. Droughts are classified into several categories, in this work the authors limit the scope of technology built-term meteorological forecasting. To build technology term meteorological forecasting in the Mekong Delta, the authors have used two methods correspond to two modules in the forecasting model. The first module is based on relationships with the standard deviation in sea surface temperature SSTA. And the second module on the basis of the relationship with atmospheric circulation for the index term
