Abstract

In this paper, MIKE11 was applied to simulate the ability of taking water of the sluice gates in Nam Thai Binh irrigation and drainage system with average water availability and drought conditions with current situation and climate change scenario of 2050. The result shows that, under climate change and sea water level rise, some gates can take more water but some can not take water because of salinity tolerant while the water demand is increase. Therefore, the system can not satisfy the water demand. This indicates the necessary to study the solutions to improve the ability of taking water of the system for irrigation and other water uses in the future.
