THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EMI IN VIETNAMESE UNIVERSITIES: CHALLENGES AND ITS POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
The internationalization of education through English as Medium of Instruction (EMI) is growing really fast around the world. Vietnam has not been an exception in this trend. The Vietnamese government has promoted EMI with the objective of enhancing the quality of Vietnamese higher education, overhauling the outdated curriculum, and lifting the ranking of Vietnamese universities. Besides the benefits stated, some drawbacks have hindered the process. This project analyzes the different challenges of EMI implementation that have been described by different authors and it also refers to partial EMI as a possible feasible solution for the gaps of full EMI that have arisen worldwide.
