RESEARCH ON MANUFACTURING HAND WASHING LIQUID FROM THE EXTRACT OF WILD SUNFLOWER (TITHONIA DIVERSIFOLIA) WITH ANTIBACTERIAL INGREDIENTS HARVESTED IN THE BA VI MOUNTAIN REGION OF HANOI CITY

Tithonia diversifolia is a common plant species noted for its significant bioactivities, particularly its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory potential. This study focuses on utilizing the abundant raw material from Tithonia diversifolia harvested in the Ba Vi mountainous region, Hanoi, to formulate and produce an antimicrobial hand sanitizer product. The product was evaluated for its organoleptic parameters (such as color, odor/fragrance, viscosity), as well as critical physicochemical parameters (such as pH) to ensure dermal safety and stability during use. Crucially, the product underwent rigorous testing for microbiological criteria as per regulations, including Total Aerobic Microbial Count (TAMC), total yeast and mold spores, Coliforms, and E. coli to demonstrate the hand sanitizer’s efficacy and safety. Preliminary results indicate that the Tithonia diversifolia extract exhibits strong inhibitory activity against common pathogenic bacterial strains, opening up prospects for its application in community healthcare products.
