APPLICATION OF AIQS-DB SOFTWARE FOR ANALYSING MULTI - ORGANIC COMPOUNDS IN WATER OF RIVERS IN VIETNAM

Abstract

    This paper presents results of applying the software AIQS-DB (Automated Identification andQuantification System with a database) using GC / MS for the analysis of 943 organiccompounds in 59 river waters in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh city. Theresults show that: 235/943 compounds were detected, including steroid compounds (C = 31,7-50,3ng/L) and petrochemicals (C =10.1-12,2ng/L) was found in 100% of the samplesanalyzed. The main steroids such as cholesterol (C = 178ng/L), beta-sitosterol (C = 3,94ng /L), coprostanol (11,2ng / L), coprostanone (3,13ng/L) appear from 98-100 59% of the totalsample, the concentration and frequency appear higher than with other organic compounds,only about ≤2ng / L.AIQS-DB software was also calibrated by using surrogate standard fromKanto Chemical Co (18 compounds). Mixed- n-alkanes solution (C9-C33) to estimate realretention time of analysis compounds compare to retention time in database.AIQS-DBsoftware perfectly suited to determine the qualitative and quantitative and over 943 organiccompounds in water without the use of standards.
