PREPARATION OF CdSe QUANTUM DOTS USING A GREEN CHEMICAL REACTION METHOD

Abstract
In this paper we present the study of the CdSe quantum dots preparation using a closedchemical reaction system and inorganic CdO compound as a starting material. Several advantage features of the mentioned method are as follows: safely chemical reaction, quantum dots madehave quasi-spherical shape with mean sizes in the range 2.8 - 5.0 nm (determined from the TEM images). The size dispersion of 10% has been achieved for as-prepared quantum dots withoutany selective precipitation that was controlled by the temperature for crystallite seeding and the time for growing as well. High quality of the CdSe quantum dots has been confirmed by photoluminescence measurement which gives the spectra with full width at half maximum of25 - 32 nm and the quantum yield of 60%.
