STUDY ON STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF NANOCOMPOSITES BASED ON LLDPE/ORGANOCLAY (CLAY-VTMS) IN THE PRESENCE OF DICUMYL PEROXIDE AS INITIATOR (DCP)

Abstract

In this work, nanocomposites were prepared by blending of LLDPE / 2 % clay- VTMS / 0,1 – 0,3 % DCP in melt state in Haake internal mixer. Then, the products of the mixing were pressed by Toyoseiky press with the force from 150 to 220 kg/cm2 . Structure and properties of materials were investigated by methods such as: X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), mechanical properties and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The obtained results showed that the prepared nanocomposites possessed intercalated and exfoliated form. The mechanical and the thermal properties of nanocomposites were considerably improved in comparison with the LLDPE alone
