PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF LAYER-BY-LAYER THIN FILM GRAPHENE/POLY(1,5-DIAMINONAPHTHALENE)
Abstract
Graphene (Gr), emerging as a true 2-dimensional material, has received increasing attention due to its extraordinarily high electrical and thermal conductivities, great mechanical strength, large specific surface area. Therefore, Gr would be a potential functional component to prepare conducting polymer composites with superior material properties. This study demonstrates the preparation of a novel layer-by-layer thin film of hybrid graphene/poly(1,5-diaminonaphthalene) on the platinum integrated microelectrode. Gr layer was synthesized by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method and poly(1,5-DAN) was electrodeposited above it. The results of Raman analysis showed the combined structure of two components: Gr and poly(1,5-DAN). The electrochemical responses recorded by cyclic voltammetry clearly indicated that hybrid film was much more electroactive and more stable than pure poly(1,5-DAN) film.
