Abstract

Complex eigenvalue method is one of the methods used to analysis flutter instability of structures under the effect of the aerodynamic forces. In this paper, complex eigenvalue method is applied to build the program that calculates flutter frequency and flutter velocity of bridge deck under the effect of wind forces, using MATLAB software. The effect of wind on the Vam Cong Bridge, a major bridge to be built in Vietnam, was studied in view of flutter stability with vertical displacement and torsional displacement
