Selection of Three Line Hybrids of Rice Introduced from China
Abstract
The three line hybrid rice combinations introduced from China which were evaluated in 2012 spring and summer season. The hybrids had good plantype, high tillers, acceptable yield and good quality. The selection of promissing combination(s) was based on agronomical traits and morphological traits, such as growth period, yield attributing characters and actual yield. As a result, Vinh uu 366 (33F1) was selected for its short growth duration (115 days in the season), high yield (6,8 tons/ha), and good quality. This promissing hybrid should be further tested for the ecological adaptation in other areas in order to release as new variety.
