Border trades and the shaping of the new towns create some urgent problems

Abstract

From the accient to present time the border trades along the River linking Van Nam of China and Northern Vietnam have some impact on the ups and downs of towns and people among the borders of the two countries.

Based on the historical facts and available documents the writer presents the shaping and development of towns along the borders of Vietnam and China associated with the boerder trades between the two countries in the ancient times, namely, from the end of the 19th century to the begining of the 20th century and especially the recent time (since 1990s of the 20th century), through this presention he identifies the features of the shaping and the development of towns. their inhabitants in the border areas as well as the outstanding social, economic, cultural contradictions that need to be tackled.

The main contents of his article include:

1. Border trade betweem Lao Cai and Van Nam with the shaping of new towns associated with the development as well as the ups and downs of a number of towns along the borders of the two countries in the end of 19th century anf the begining og the 20th century.

2. The waves of trades via the border of Lao Cai and Van Nam of China, which have shaped new towns and their inhabitants along the border as well as their outstanding problems, that need to be solved.

3. Conclusion:

- The border areas of Lao Cai and Van Nam of China have their own characteristics, but they have something in common, the is their development is associated with the border trades between the two countries.

- Most of the towns in Lao Cai and Van Nam of China have been shaped and developed during on opening of the border between in the two countries (in the first and the second times).

- Along with the shaping and development of towns along the border quite a few complicated problems socially, economically anf culturally and so on have also arisen, that require appropriate solution to tackle./.
