Industrialization and modernization in Vietnam: Challenges and recommendations

Abstract
To sum up 30 years of innovation, the article analyzes some of the challenges in the process of industrialization and modernization in Vietnam as very low income levels compared with the standard set by the industrialized countries; economic structure and labor structure shifted slowly; manufacturing industry was small-scale and low quality; quality of human resources has not met the needs of industrialization and modernization; and environmental resources are used unsustainably increasing wealth gap and propose some recommendations to accelerate the industrialization and modernization.
