Abstract

1. Structure and transformation of economic branches

The agriculture-forestry and fishery sector accounting for 24 per cent of the Province’s GDP in 1999 slowed down to 9.9 per cent in 2009. The figures for industry and construction were 50.3 per cent in 1999 and 57.3 per cent in 2009 respectively. Meanwhile the figure of services sector went up to 32.8 per cent in 2009 from 25.6 per cent in1999.

2. Regional economic transformation

Dong Nai’s economy has been shaped into three sub-economic regions with various characteristics: 1). South Dong Nai’s sub economic region; 2). East Dong Nai’s sub economic region and 3). West Dong Nai’s sub economic region.

There is an uneven development in these sub-economic regions. Economic growth belongs to South Dong Nai’s sub conomic region.

3. Structure and transformation of economic sectors (1) State economic sector continues to play a major role, (2) Individual economy grows relatively high (3) Collective economy still leaves much to be desired and (4) Private sectors almost doubled their growth ang (5) Foreign invested sector plays a role in increasing the Province’s GDP./.
