Abstract

MXene Ti3C2 materials have a unique 2D structural framework and high
electrical conductivity, which makes them potentially beneficial for
supercapacitor electrodes. Using uncomplicated, high-performance fabrication
techniques can decrease manufacturing costs and enhances the applicability of
materials. In this study, MXene Ti3C2 was directly fabricated from Ti3AlC2 by etching
the aluminum layer with HF acid solution. After 60 hours of delamination reaction,
the resulting material possesses high purity and a 2D structure with a layer
thickness of approximately 50nm. When used as a supercapacitor electrode, the
material exhibit quit high electrochemical properties, including low internal
resistance and charge transfer resistance (reaching 0.541Ω and 0.554Ω,
respectively), high specific capacitance (98F/g at a current density of 0.1A/g), and
high capacitance retention, reaching 83.5 percent after 1000 cycles. The results of
this study indicate that MXene has great potential for the production of high-
performance electrode materials and can be utilized in future supercapacitor
