EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN VIETNAMESE UNIVERSITIES
Abstract
Universities are increasingly playing a pivotal role in providing high-quality human resources and fostering the socio-economic development of nations. In
the context of higher education autonomy, universities are required to prioritize the implementation of University Social Responsibility (USR) as a strategic
approach to building institutional reputation and public trust, thereby establishing and sustaining a competitive advantage. Given the professional nature of
academic and administrative roles within the education sector, maintaining employee engagement and enhancing employee commitment to the university are
critical for retaining a high-quality workforce. This article examines the relationship between various dimensions of USR and employees’ organizational
commitment and loyalty within higher education institutions. Employing a quantitative research design, the author explores how different aspects of USR impact
employee engagement and organizational loyalty. The findings offer several important insights and practical implications that contribute to the advancement
of USR implementation and the strengthening of employee-university relationships in the future.
