STUDYING THE IMPACT OF CORPORATE INCOME TAX ON THE CAPITAL STRUCTURE OF LISTED FOOD - BEVERAGE ENTERPRISES IN VIETNAM

Abstract

The study was conducted to measure the impact of corporate income tax on the capital structure of listed food and beverage enterprises in Vietnam. The
study uses data from 21 food and beverage companies listed on the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchanges in the period 2013-2023. With the GLS model
estimation method to overcome autocorrelation and heteroskedasticity, along with the GMM model to handle endogenous variables. The test results show that
corporate income tax has an impact on the ratio of long-term debt to total capital and the ratio of short-term debt to total capital but does not affect the ratio
of liabilities to total capital. In addition, as control variables, company size, profit margin, liquidity, revenue growth and proportion of fixed assets are also tested
to have an impact on the capital structure of companies. companies in the research sample.
