Abstract

Comfort, fit and the ability to cover body defects are important criteria of bras for women after mastectomy. This study is based on the needs of breast cancer
patients and breast body characteristics after total mastectomy to build a 3D bra model. Breast cancer patients, who have had mastectomy, have 3D scans of
their breasts. The scan data is analyzed to determine the breast contour and reconstruct the breast body surface. A 3D model of the bra is created based on the
analysis of the body characteristics of the non-surgical chest compared to the surgical breast area. During bra 3D modeling, the horizontal curves at the base of
the chest and the top of the chest of the human body 3D mesh are used to build the mastectomy bra model. The results in the study indicate that the proposed
method is easier to implement and can produce bras that fit and are comfortable. This is because the 3D model is based on the actual surface of the body, which
can closely follow the body contours more accurately than just relying on a set of measurements, as is done in conventional 2D design techniques. This study
provides a new bra design technique that helps breast cancer patients feel more comfortable and confident in their daily activities.
