DICTIONARY OF TRUYỆN KIỀU - THE FIRST MONUMENT FOR COMPILING THE GENRE OF WRITER DICTIONARIES IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Applying lexicographical theory, this article focuses on analyzing the
construction of the word list (macrostructure) and the information presented
in each entry (microstructure) of the Dictionary of Truyện Kiều - a very valuable
work compiled by the scholar Dao Duy Anh. This dictionary is not only a
valuable reference work on Truyện Kiều but also the first dictionary of the
author-dictionary type, paving the way for a new direction in dictionary
compilation in Vietnam.
