ACTION RESEARCH APPLICATION IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES
Abstract
For teachers in general and foreign language teachers in particular, scientiöc research
for teaching purposes and improving the quality of teaching and learning is an
indispensable part of professional development. However, due to the nature of work, they
do not have much time for their scientiöc research. In that context, foreign language
teachers are always concerned about selecting an appropriate method that can conduct
scientiöc research and ensure teaching. Action research is a research method that uses
practice as a premise for research, to improve actions in a way consistent with reality. This
article draws insights from the self-reøective inquiry and the steps to conduct an action
study in foreign language teaching so that readers can have a clearer view of this method
to önd solutions to improve the quality of teaching, and their professional development.
