Abstract

In this article studies the pyrolysis of pig manure samples in a dual fixed-bed
reactor and catalytic steam tar reforming during syngas goes through Ni/Al2O3
catalyst layer with steam at at low temperatures. The product gas quality had
been enhanced which were investigated. The experiments were conducted on a
dual fixed-bed gasification pyrolyzer, the upper is sample layer, the lower layer is
Ni/Al2O3 catalyst. Water steam is introduced to catalyst layer with syngas which
works as the gasification agent at the temperature range of 500 to 650°C. The gas
samples were collected and then analyzed for gas composition using gas
chromatography (GC). The changes in gas composition depended on the catalyst,
catalyst bed temperature, and steam, which were highlighted. The research
results showed that the Ni/Al2O3 catalyst exhibited strong activity for tar
conversion at temperatures of 650°C
