Structure of the hydrazide-hydrazones derived from isoeugenoxyacetic acid.

Abstract

Two sets of resonance signals are observed on 1H NMR- and 13C NMR spectra for 16 hydrazide-hydtazones derived from isoeugrnoxyacetic acid at room temperature. As the temperature is raised though the range 303-373 K, the peaks broaden and then coalesce. Energy barrier of the intercouversion of 73-77 kl.mol-1 indicate that, in the solutions the examined compounds exist in two comformers at hydrazide sing bond CO-N. The 1H NMR and NOESY spectra show that, HC=CH double bond and hydrazone double bond >C=N- of the two corformers have E-configuranion.
